Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint
A fresh, cool blue-grey shade, inspired by the colours found in swedish manors in the 17th and 18th centuries. This colour is bluer than duck egg blue. Decorative paint for furniture and walls. Chalk paint is a very special paint for a number of reasons: sanding and priming is not necessary. Environmentally friendly due to a very low solvent content. Can be used on almost any surface, indoors and outdoors. The paint can be diluted with water for whitewash, for example, so that the wood grain remains visible. The colours are composed in such a way that they can be mixed well with each other. It's a girls' paint, but boys can use it too. You can safely use it if you are pregnant. It allows walls to breathe and is therefore extremely suitable for old houses or cottages. It can be used as 'impasto', to do this leave the lid off the pot to allow the paint to dry, making it thicker. The paint has been made since 1990, you could say: dyed in the wool.
Artist and innovator Annie Sloan invented her revolutionary Chalk Paint® in 1990, and has continued to refine her formula ever since. Designed for use on furniture and walls, it is unique in that, in most cases, it can be used without the need for any preparation, such as sanding or priming. Described as ‘the fool-proof furniture paint’ is can be applied to many types of surface, including metal, melamine, wood and glass. With a vibrant colour palette inspired by 18th and 20th Century decor and design to choose from, there’s a pigment for every project.
