Before lighting for the first time, and prior to each use, trim wick to 1/4 inch. Do not allow the wick trimmings to accumulate in the pool of wax. Burn the candle until the top is liquid to avoid pits in the wax when you light again. To avoid the glass overheating, do not burn the candle to the bottom but leave 0.2 inches of wax. Only burn outdoors and use in a space sheltered from the wind.
