Vase designed by Ettore Sottsass Jr. for BD Barcelona. *His real name was censored It is one of our favorite pieces. It has become a hallmark of BD Barcelona worldwide. Shiva, designed by Ettore Sottsass Jr. in 1973, for BD. In the early 1970s Sottsass often traveled to Barcelona. He had fallen in love with a beautiful Catalan. Fruit of that love and of your stay in our country we have this piece for the history of our design. The golden version, a trophy, was made especially for the X edition of the Signes Awards for design students. I continue making small, small architectures, like this pottery, a bit like monuments, a little like graves, a little like abandoned temples of the gods, a bit like ruins of the ancient and unknown civilization where something, they say I knew; they say that the axes, the curves, the crossings were known, perhaps even the reason for the cosmic paths along which the vertices deprived of the atoms that make our fragile body slide every day. An illustrious character premiered the list of designs from the first Bd catalog. It was almost ten years before Memphis was born, but it had been so many years since Ettore Sottsass was already traveling to India. Its "small architectures", like this vase, owe much to that culture. Finishes: Glazed ceramic in pink.
