Buzz Rickson's Hooded Sweat Peanuts Br69074 - Olive
The very high quality 13 oz. sweatshirt fabric is woven in Japan on original old 4-needle loop looms from 1920. These looms are special machines used to produce sweatshirts without side seams, also called tubes. It hardly gets any better than this!
The sweatshirt has evolved from a wool-knit material to a cotton material with a looped backing, and has evolved as daily wear for the American public as a "sweat-absorbent shirt". The military and military academies, where hard training was a daily routine, were quick to take notice, and the sweatshirt was also sold at base shops scattered across the USA. The material has a unique flexibility because it is made using a tubular suspension knitting machine, which knits the material under uneven tension, just as it did at the time. The V-shaped gusset is sewn with a rib material on top of the body, commonly known as a "beaten V".
