Vitra Wooden No 13 Doll Sculptures
Wooden Dolls are wooden dolls, a real object of desire. One of the most desired collections by design addicts. Too playful or just to admire? Too admirable to play simply? In fact, these Alexander Girard wooden dolls are just perfect in both cases.
Along with Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson, Alexander Girard is one of the most influential representatives of postwar American design. Although the essential point of his heterogeneous work was textile design, he made countless designs, highlighting these cute dolls, the Wooden Dolls, being partly decorative elements and partly toys that I make exclusively for personal use and enjoyment.
His intense relationship with the popular art of South America, Asia and Eastern Europe was a primary source of inspiration.
