Established in 2017, Wax Atelier was founded by London-based multidisciplinary designers Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo. The Wax Atelier collection features sculptural and contemporary twist candles as well as more traditional tapered options - perfect to dress up any tablescape. Hand-crafted in small batches, each Wax Atelier candle is made in-house at their studio in Poplar, London. The candles are naturally coloured and made using traditional candle-making techniques. Lola was born in Hanoi, and grew up in London. Curious from an early age about how objects are made, she took to drawing and making, learning the connection between materials, process and maker. Yesenia explores materials through collaborations with experts in the fields of geology, anthropology and craft, she uses design as a means to engage with diverse audiences on climate challenges we face. Together, they are offering a contemporary approach to candle-making rooted in nature and tradition, with a focus on sustainability.
